America's Soldiers

            Africa           God Said
You were sent to fight this battle a difficult battle you must fight, but please don’t ever forget we at home know your plight. In the midst of imminent battle you stepped up to the plate, and proudly held your heads high without even knowing your fate. Many of you are very young and have never known war, but you have given your life to fight a battle we’ve never fought before. With honor and fearlessness your country you pledged to protect, and you said with a resounding voice that your duty you would not neglect. Our hearts and souls weep for you even though we know you are strong. We support you to the end of war although this battle may be long. You have faith that you will go home so keep that forefront in your mind. No matter what happens around you - you have left hopeful families behind. Though you are brave soldiers you are human beings too. So, in the heat of battle please know that many prayers are with you. So, as you fulfill your duty remember these words at every turn, and with open arms extended we await your swift and safe return. A country of kings and queens and great empires of old, who explored its great mines of diamonds, rubies and gold. A country of infinite beauty with beaches of white sand, natural parks and lush rainforests stretching across its vast land. A country of majestic waterfalls where winding rivers never end, and the only sound you hear is the rustling of the wind. A country of mighty beasts grazing in the tropical heat, in harmony with all tribes dancing their own lively beat. A country with a rich blend of people from far off places, who treasured its palm trees, countryside and open spaces. A country of many languages so melodic and so bold, with villagers still speaking the harmonious dialects of old. Yes, this is my beloved country even though I’ve gone away. It will live in my memory forever and in my heart it will always stay. You tell me don’t be anxious for you will always be there, and just when I feel abandoned your presence you make clear. You tell me not to worry there is nothing for me to fear, and in my darkest hour you remind me that you are near. You tell me you’ll work it out - just wait and trust in you, and when I look at your creation I’m reminded of all you can do. You tell me you’re always by my side - my protector you will be, and when your name I call out, your angels reach out and rescue me. You shine your light of hope with every word that you say. Lifting me in times of trouble and directing my path each day. So when darkness fills my mind and my heart is filled with dread, I think of your words so clear and remember all that you have said.

Today's Promise

          If You Knew          Gratitude
I enter this day with a promise to self, to live for each moment today. Yesterday’s gone, tomorrow’s not promised, in this mindset I choose to stay. I choose to forget the painful past, breaking the chains of yesterday. The shackles no longer confine me, this morning brings me a new day. I choose to let go and move on, all disappointments and regrets behind. With eyes focused and looking forward, my true destiny I will surely find. The anguish and agony of the past, from my mind I can’t erase. But instead of replaying the pain, my way of thinking I must replace. I choose to step into the present, refocusing my mind’s new vision. To rethink old thoughts and beliefs, every moment I make this decision. So today, with this new outlook I owe it to myself to not fail. Whatever happens around me I know with God’s help I will prevail. If you really truly knew just how great you really are, you would never doubt the journey no matter how far. If all of your many blessings you could vividly see, you would never ever question all that you can be. If all of the possibilities you could only believe, you would have more faith and realize you can achieve. If you rose above your fear and would accept nothing less from all of your hopes and dreams, you’d trust in their success. If you leaned on a higher power and would pray when in need, you would know first hand that God will take the lead. Gratitude is the most important human state of mind, because in every bad condition you can always find -a positive angle that reminds you to be thankful for - just how far you’ve come in your pursuit for more. Yes, when all appears lost and no help is in sight -gratitude puts all in perspective and helps shed new light -on the depth of the problem helping you to see -just how bad the situation could truly be. Gratitude helps you appreciate the here and the now -because tomorrow’s not promised and you never know how -what seems unbearable today may only get worse -or entirely change and your future completely reverse. In choosing gratitude you must always remember -to never compare self to others as this will always hinder- you from finding real contentment along life’s journey -as you progress towards your true purpose and destiny. So find any reason to be genuinely grateful today -so when the tide changes you can honestly say -that in the eye of the storm gratitude was found - and now on the other side of pain, true joy can abound.
Surrendering        A Perfect World       Autumn Thoughts
Whatever your problem in life may be, through God’s Grace you can be set free. If you have no discipline of your own, lay your problem before His mighty throne. Just relinquish control and you will see, the magnificent power of God’s authority. Stop feeling guilty when you stumble and fall. The Lord will deliver you from them all. Your open wounds He will surely find, healing your body, soul spirit and mind. He will sanctify you through and through, and with His mercy, He will rescue you. So when weak, just pray to our God above and your stronghold, He will conquer with love. If I could live in a world surrounded by glorious and magnificent flowers of every variety…My soul would never sleep! If I could live in a world sheltered in a dense emerald forest with branches dripping in green jade…My mind would be free! If I could live in a world mesmerized by spectacular autumn trees with leaves painted orange red and yellow…My heart would open up! If I could live in a world spellbound by the majestic beauty of pristine white snowcapped mountains…I would dream forever! If I could live in a world enthralled by the fertile and lush green grass growing beneath my feet…I would walk across the earth! If I could live in a world intoxicated by the permeating aroma of a summer rain shower…I would never stop breathing!…………..If I could live in a world suspended in the air alongside enormous fluffy white clouds…I would fly away! Along this endless path my thoughts unfold admiring the beauty of autumn with its leaves of gold. The vibrant colors are so pleasing to the eye as they dance and whirl under the clear blue sky. I think upon this season of brilliance and decay and pity the colorful leaves as they wither away. It's so sad that these leaves should have to fall from their homes high above so might and tall. As autumn begins a new season, so short and so grand I reflect upon the change in this glorious land. As the season of awakening ends the season of the rose, I treasure beautiful autumn as it draws to a close.
A Day Away             Fragile        Yet Jesus Died
I just want a little relief, just a short day away - from the stress and anxiety that I face every day. Just a moment of bliss where I can just disappear - from all of my problems and from all that I fear. Washing away my worries with just an interval of peace - where all of my concerns forever promise to cease. In this space I firmly grasp a matter of breath and no life - striving as I inhale deeply to soothe the inner strife. To disappear between blinks into a world of tranquility -of calm and relaxation, A final escape from reality. To run away with the breeze, floating into infinite infinity - adrift in my mind’s eye as I dream of eternal eternity. Transporting me with ease into this new dimension. - Full of love and beauty, This place I’ve never been. Safely enveloped in the shadow of warm arms for a day. - That promises endless comfort as my mind and body sail away. They all look at us and all that they can see - is the power and the strength in our black history. They all look at us and say that we are strong. - But little do they know that they are all so wrong. They say we’re insensitive, unloving and rough. - So we pretend we’re hard and act like we’re tough. It’s and act and we know it, but we can’t let it go. - We have out strength to prove, the truth we can’t show. Other women are treated fragile they’re afraid they might break. - But we’re given no sympathy there is nothing we can’t take. Other men believe the lies so all they do is stare. - We’re not soft and feminine so why would they care. It’s heartbreaking and unfair that we get no help to survive. - They don’t know our struggle just to exist and stay alive. So we hold our heads high and with pride we stand tall - because we do have His grace. God’s our only place to fall. But, I still want them all to know what they believe is untrue. - We may be strong, we may be tough, but we are fragile too. In all of his majesty he left God's side, and came to earth and for all of us he died. He left this mighty and lofty position on high, and at Mount Calvary he chose to die. Do we truly recognize the depth of his love? That he would leave it all behind up above? Who of you would die for your closest brother? Sacrifice it all for him and then another? - Who of you would die for a great person? Leave your family behind and be the one? - Who of you would die for the wretched at heart? Willingly forfeit life and from this earth depart? Who of you would suffer the pain and immense loss - of your dignity as your body hung from a cross....Though he knew all of this would occur, he still came. So let's show him our love as we pray in his name. Give him all of the glory as our Lord and Savior. And as our mediator request his help in prayer.
            Salvation  Women of Strength
Lord, you rescued and saved me when no one else could, I just asked and you came just as you said you would. When all appeared lost and my future I could not see, you lifted me up and as you promised carried me. -- You then kissed my soul and from death made it anew, transformed my mind with all that is good and true. You opened my eyes and gave me a second chance at life, to finally see your beauty in a world full of strife. --You brought me more peace than I could ever imagine, and with your love and mercy you wiped away my sin. You continue to direct and guide me every day, instructing me with your holy word in all that you say. -- How do I articulate the power of salvation’s hope to one who has never experienced its awe-inspiring scope? To put into words what is difficult to explain just what God does when your world is filled with pain. -- So if you are in need of help, all you have to do is pray, for peace and give thanks for all you’ve been given today. Then wait for God’s grace and all that he can do, and you will then experience real salvation in you. My fellow sisters of America stand tall with your heads held high. Women of all nations let’s unite and reach for the sky. - Let’s realize our inner power and stop giving our power away. Create a better world for ourselves and for our children a brighter day. - We’ve been blessed to be born in this great country of liberty. What have we done with our freedom? But give away what was not free. - Mothers, sisters and daughters died while proving they were strong. When you give your power to a man you show them they were wrong. - In this country built on strength why are so many women abused? A permeating lack of self-love they allow themselves to be used. - This belief has seeped into our society an acceptable union of love and pain. Regardless of age wealth or color our men treat us with utter distain. ………So look within and pray for healing to recover your lost dignity, And remember the women of strength in our country’s rich history.
God's Radiant Light
Let God's radiant light be your beacon and your guide. So when life's tide becomes too strong you will know He's by your side. He is your lighthouse thru life's storms firmly planted beside the sea. To help you see through life's fog - your firm tower He will be. So don't panic when you are lost and no help is in sight. Though it's dark and frightening His radiance will outshine the night.
